How often do you hear things like, ‘Life isn’t fair,’ or ‘There’s nothing we can do about it,’ or ‘It’s just human nature’? Profit, some say, is the only way to organise everything from healthcare and education to food and shelter for everyone in the world. ‘There is no alternative,’ said Margaret Thatcher.
Big things are happening in the world and they effect all of us. Alone, it’s easy to feel powerless or depressed. It’s easy to believe that there are no alternatives. With others, it’s easier to imagine other options. A different life. A different Bournemouth. A different world.
No one here has the answers. We are not a political party or a campaigning group recruiting members. We are here to listen to each other, to share our concerns about the world and what helps us imagine alternatives. We also chat, have a laugh and get to know each other better. Anyone who cares about the state of the planet (and the state of Bournemouth!) is more than welcome to come along and see what you think. Feel free to bring a friend.
